Oversized coats, puffy parkas, jackets that go down to your knees and make you look as if you’re about 30 more pounds than you actually are. Winter isn’t the cutest I’m sure we can all agree on that. Sometimes you have to sacrifice the warmth of a coat to show off that sweater or that piece of jewelry outside. The meme below my photos is a perfect example dressing for show during the winter season. People care about two things in NYC in the winter: being warm and finding the fastest route to a place to get warm. That’s basically it. It’s as if people say “Screw this” and layer the hell up until they look like a marshmallow just to get to your destination and take off every single layer.
And don’t even mention what happens when it snows. Your birthday or engagement party is in the winter and there’s a snowfall? Good luck getting people out of their cozy apartments and onto those unplowed NYC streets! Sometimes you have to bear it all to look cute in the winter. Show that outfit off to those marshmallows and warm up later. Dressing for the winter while looking presentable to the public the biggest oxymoron I’ve ever heard.
