Just touched down in London town!
(I’ve always wanted to write that somewhere)
After my trip to Paris I took the 45 minute plane ride over to London, England. Ya know, just to see what they were up to. Turns out they were up to a lot! London reminds me so much of New York. It is very hustle and bustle and their SoHo area is so reminiscent of our SoHo here in the Big Apple. It was almost as if I were back home again. I honestly thought I was going to arrive in London and hear things like “Cheerio” and “old chap” (not sure) but I was surprised to hear MANY different dialects being spoken on the streets. I barely heard the British accent the first two days. I guess, like NYC, London is a melting pot of cultures and ethnicities too which I found very cool!
I cannot cannot cannot recommend the hotel I stayed at enough. It was absolutely incredible. Tucked away, hidden almost, in a nondescript street, the building, from the outside, has the appearance of a quaint apartment. But then you look down a long and dark hallway leading you to the entrance of The Mandrake Hotel. The decor blew me away when I walked in. I mean see for yourself in my photos below! It was like the animal kingdom in there -with plant-life everywhere you looked (even hanging from the ceiling). My room had a little porch moment with a table and two chairs overlooking the public spaces. Quiet and serene during the day and then lively and fun at night. The perfect combo for a European vacation, right? The restaurant named Serge was beauty as well. I only ordered room service from there but even that was insane. I went in during the day to snap some photos of the space because I wanted to capture it in the daylight (see below).
10 out of 10 would recommend The Mandrake if you’re planning on staying in the city of London!
Check out my photos of The Mandrake Hotel and some from the outside the hotel below 🙂
